Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we moving to online pay advices?
The motives for making the change include increased security, accessibility, and cost savings.  Your pay advices will no longer be handled by multiple personnel and will be viewable behind a secure login.

Will the printed pay advice be accepted by banks/credit unions for a loan?
Yes.  The format of the pay advice will be exactly as received in paper format.  The form will have the employee’s name and address along with IWU’s name, address and logo.

When will employees be able to see their pay advice in the system for the upcoming pay date?
Employees who are set up with direct deposit should be able to view their pay advice 24hrs prior to the scheduled deposit date.

How far back does the online pay advice record extend to?
The online system will allow employees to view pay advices for the current calendar year and two years prior.

Will employees still be able to receive the printed versions?
Yes and No.  Employees not setup for Direct Deposit will still continue to receive a paper check.  Employees that have Direct Deposit will not receive the printed version.  They may, however, view and print their pay advices as needed from the online version.

Will notifications be sent out when a new advice is available?
No.  Pay advices will be available one day prior to each scheduled deposit date.

What if there are problems with my pay advice?  Who should I contact?
Please view the list below to determine the necessary person to contact:

When accessing my pay advice, I receive a message that states the file is corrupt or has an incorrect file type.  What should I do?
This message is indicative of a faulty installation of Adobe on your computer.  While you can save the file to your computer and open it from that location, you are unable to view the PDF in a browser window.  To remedy this issue, Adobe Reader will need to be reinstalled on your computer.  If you need assistance with this step, please contact the Call Center at x2209.

Will I be able to view pay advices from home?
Yes. Users should be able to access and view their pay advices from home. The only requirements are a working internet connection and authentication (entering a valid login ID and password) to the system. Because the system does require a log in and contains potentially sensitive information, users are instructed to always LOG OUT and close all browser windows when leaving their computer. If a user is unable to access Data Connect from home, they should notify the Call Center at x2209
