Mail Services provides assistance to all IWU faculty, staff and students. Mail Services staff includes six full-time employees and approximately eleven student employees. The Post Office sends out over 800,000 pieces of mail and receives over 2000 tubs, 1,100 trays, and 650 sacks of mail, and 72,000 packages annually. The Student Center Post Office offers 3,200 mailboxes, enough for all residential undergraduate and graduate students, including commuting traditional students with seven or more credit hours, to have their own individual box.

All outgoing mail is metered by Mail Services and picked up daily by the USPS and UPS.


Services
 
  • The Student Center Post Office sells postage stamps and a variety of envelopes.
  • The Student Center Post Office offers assistance in mailing packages and letter mail via USPS or UPS.
  • The Student Center Post Office has a FAX machine for student use. The fee $1.00 to send a FAX and 10 cents a page to receive a FAX. When a student receives a FAX a card is placed in the student mailbox and the student must return the card to the Post Office Window and show their student ID to receive their FAX.
  • The Student Center Post Office offers a copy service to students. Copies are 4 cents per page for 8 ½ x 11 white copy paper. Colored paper and color copies are also available for an additional cost.

Mail Distribution
 

Both letter mail and packages (USPS, UPS, FedEx and FedEx Ground) are distributed to students at the Student Center Post Office via their campus mailbox. Student mail is processed in the Student Center Post Office and is in the student mailboxes by 2:00 p.m. Campus mail is processed throughout the day and is in the student mailboxes by 5:00 p.m. Packages are processed at Mail Services and transported to the Student Center Post Office several times a day. Package cards are placed in the student mailboxes and the student must return the card to the Post Office Window as well as show their student ID to receive their package.
