As a ministry of the Dean of the Chapel Office, World Impact exists to mobilize students for local outreach and global service. 

We believe that spiritual transformation involves not only an inward experience of God’s grace in our lives, but also an outward expression of love and compassion for others. In the precise words of Jesus, we strive to provide students with opportunities to: “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind...and love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39). This purpose of World Impact is fulfilled locally by way of campus-wide and community-focused outreach initiatives (led by Student Body Outreach Coordinators and Resident Hall Outreach Coordinators), and globally by way of global service teams (led by faculty, staff, and alumni). Furthermore, these local and global initiatives are done in partnership with churches and parachurch ministries who focus on both the physical and the spiritual needs of people. Finally, our ultimate goal for students who get involved with World Impact is that their short-term ministry experience will lead to a life-long commitment of loving and serving God and others wherever in the world they may land after their time at Indiana Wesleyan University.
