Basic Function:
The Admissions Associates are primarily responsible for representing Indiana Wesleyan University to all Admissions visitors to the campus. Associates will assist the Admissions Office in creating a welcoming, accommodating, fulfilling, and positive atmosphere for prospective students and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct tours for visiting students, families, and special groups.
- Host prospective students and their families at meals and chapels during their visit.
- Host prospective students overnight in your room and entertain them as you would a guest in your home.
- Assist the Admissions Office with campus visit events.
- Assist the Admissions Office with off-campus recruitment events.
- Be on-call an average of two weekends a semester for tour and hosting responsibilities.
- Carry out all other responsibilities and duties assigned by the Assistant Coordinator of Campus Visits.
- Assist with Youth Conference and Junior High Weekend.
- Attend weekly meetings in which upcoming visits and activities will be assigned. Attendance is mandatory!
- Work 4 scheduled hours per week in the Admissions Office. Associates are expected to volunteer for other activities as needed and should expect an average of 10-12 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Return to IWU campus on Sunday, August 24, 2008 for training and participate in entirety of training. NOTE: Associates may not hold other leadership positions that conflict with this training time.
- Sign a contract for the year ending May 2, 2009.
Job Qualifications:
- A desire to represent Indiana Wesleyan University and to minister to visitors.
- A strong academic student with a 3.0 GPA or above.
- A strong command of the English language; articulate in communications.
- A positive and outgoing personality.
- Well respected by faculty and peers.
