Job Description

 

Mission Statement:

Department of Campus Recreation whose mission is to provide a wide variety of quality recreation, sports, fitness, and leisure activities that will increase the overall wellness of the campus community and to provide dynamic programming that enhances leadership and social development in an environment that is fair, safe, and Christ-centered.

 

Character Statement:

Campus Recreation positions fall under Student Development. Staff members are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with IWU lifestyle standards and work diligently to avoid probationary status of any kind (academic, chapel, residence life, etc.).

 

General Duties:

1.       Work directly with the Campus Recreation Director, Student Development Graphic Artists, Assistant Resident Directors, and Intramural Photographer to promote Campus Recreation.

2.       Attend staff meetings.

 

Specific Duties:

1.       Create and work towards maintaining Campus Recreation strategic plan.

2.       Help IT maintain website.

3.       Organize the gathering of photos from any Campus Recreation or Intramural Events.

4.       Distribute and publicize any and all materials pertaining to Campus Recreation or Intramural Sports.

5.       Design posters.

6.       Assist in the intramural registration process by sitting at registration tables, distributing and collecting all materials about leagues and events.

7.       Perform other duties as assigned by the Director as it relates to the marketing and publicity of the Campus Recreation Program.

 

Qualifications:

An individual desiring a leadership position whom has an understanding of Campus Recreation’s role on campus and has marketing skills. Abilities such as self-motivation, good time-management and organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively, the ability to serve others, a high level of professionalism, dependability, and desire for excellence are crucial to a candidate's success.  Maintains a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and is not on any disciplinary, academic or chapel probation.

 

Compensation:

The Campus Recreation Marketing Director is a stipend position.

 

Term of Service:

Marketing Director shall serve no less than one semester. The established preference will be for the Director to serve no less than one academic year (August-April).
